Will of the Stars

To introduce ourselves, we must begin by introducing the set of laws that all Starseekers must abide by.This is the Will of the Stars- the rules given to us that we must abide by in our journey to find the place where the stars will touch the Earth, and so our curse lifted. The first 12 rules were always part of the Will of the Stars- the remaining rules were added out of later necessity.✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥ミ✭ 1. Your most vital duty is to find the place where the stars meet the Earth. If you seek the stars' guidance, so will the stars light your path.ミ✭ 2. Defend the Starseekers, even at the cost of your life.ミ✭ 3. Do not trespass on another's territory, unless absolutely required to continue your mission. Do not hunt on another's territory.ミ✭ 4. No cat may neglect a kit in pain or danger.ミ✭ 5. Elders, queens, kits, and the sickly must be fed before any other cat. Prey is killed only to be eaten- give thanks for the life that was given.ミ✭ 6. The three factions must remain in harmony, but never combine. This is to keep a peaceful balance- and if tragedy strikes one faction, the other two factions will restore it.ミ✭ 7. The vizier will only succeed the councillor of their own faction, unless another faction is without vizier and councillor.ミ✭ 8. Kits may not train until at least 5 moons of age.ミ✭ 9. Respect our Factionless- as they are a member of all factions. They must share news, unbiased, between all Factions, and serve each authority of all three Factions as if their own.ミ✭ 10. Each Faction has the right to be proud and independent- but remember, your loyalty is to the Starseekers as a whole.ミ✭ 11. The word of the Council of Stars is the Will of the Stars.ミ✭ 12. You may not kill to win a battle, unless required for self-defense or to save the lives of many.
ミ✭ 13. The Starseekers as a whole may never bow to a single leader. Each faction should have their own councillor with equal authority to the other councillors.
ミ✭ 14. If a councillor is deemed unfit to lead, the Starseekers are expected to resist their rule and replace them quickly with the guidance of both the remaining councillors and their seers.ミ✭ 15. A cat cannot be made a vizier without having mentored a pupil.ミ✭ 16. You may not leave the Starseekers. Doing so risks the safety of every being as you spread the curse further.ミ✭ 17. You may not take a name given by or suited to the likes of the Enlightened. [Further explained later, but these are "Titled Names"]ミ✭ 18. A gathering of all Starseekers is to be held every two moons, during the full moon. Every cat is a Starseeker, no matter what Faction.✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥✥﹤┈┈┈┈┈┈┈﹥✥╔════════════════ ∘◦ ⛧ミ ◦∘ ════════════════╗Some cats, including even councillor Emberstar, have knowledge of other colonies (groups of cats) with rules ranging from similar to very, very different- allowing some confusion for newcomers used to those rules. As such, some clarification is in order.ミ✭ 1. Seers are allowed to have mates and family. The stars have never said otherwise, and it's never given us a problem!ミ✭ 2. You may not live with a paw in both worlds, yes- but it's unnecessary to reject kittypets within our rules. Our rules already demand loyalty. Why chase away the kittypets willing to aid us?ミ✭ 3. While we mark our boundaries carefully, it was never demanded of us. We move too often for that to be enough of a concern, you see. That will definitely change when we find our home, though!ミ✭ 4. Aging kits up to pupils at only 5 moons old works just fine for us. Some parents even choose to wait until those 6 full moons (like you might, if you're asking this) and that's considered normal. However, with our curse in mind, training pupils as soon as possible is actually safer in some situations.Another clarification: As the Second Faction is the Faction of Law, the councillor of the Second Faction will always be the councillor to deal with a rulebreaker unless they pass on that responsibility to another councillor depending on the circumstance. As of now, this means Emberstar will be dealing with rulebreakers, including determining punishments.╚════════════════ ∘◦ ⛧ミ ◦∘ ════════════════╝

Rules

Skipping the "high rank rules", please check those out in the Discord itself to view them if interested!𝕀 ━━━━━ Be Respectful
Think before saying things that could potentially hurt someone.
- a. Slurs, hate symbols, discrimation, etc. will never be tolerated, and will result in an immediate ban. This includes association with groups known for this behaviour or targeted discrimination to a group you're not apart of under the guise of "dark humour".
- b. Respect other's triggers and identities, etc. If posting triggering content, please use a spoiler tag.
- c. Do not fake having a mental illness or disability you do not have, or misrepresent a mental illness or disability.
𝕀𝕀 ━━━━━ Keep the Peace
Do not threaten violence towards yourself, a group, or anyone else.
- a. Do not harass any member, including doxxing, reputation damage, stalking, etc. in any form.
- b. If someone makes you uncomfortable, do not fight them. Please contact me or a mod instead. If you see a fight happening, @ us instead of getting involved.
- c. Don't cause problems on purpose. Don't be a troll, don't be rude, stuff like that.
𝕀𝕀𝕀 ━━━━━ Age Demographic
We are a 14+ server. Meaning, you must be 14 years old to join (this is to avoid 12 year olds claiming to be 13, to encourage maturity, etc). If you’re 13, just come back in a year! In accordance to Discord's guidelines, you will be banned from the server and reported if you are found to be under 13.
- a. No 18+ content is permitted in ANY channel, as minors are allowed to be in this server.
- b. If you're under the influence, you will be temporarily muted to keep things safe for minors. Do not talk in detail about these matters.
- c. Do not discuss illegal activities, especially if they involve minors.
- d. Swearing is allowed, but within reason.
𝕀𝕍 ━━━━━ Staff and Accounts
Staff reserves the right to modify rules as needed. Admin's word counts as the rules.
- a. Please do not minimod. Feel free to @ me or mods if something needs to be dealt with! Oh, you're looking for the codeword? We don't have a set code word, just list one of the rules in place of the codeword. Any of them will work.
- b. If sharing your account/using multiple accounts/etc., you must clarify beforehand. It's much preferred you stick to one account in this server, but we may allow exceptions if you let us know!
- c. You may discuss your own temporary bans, etc. with staff, but we don't ban without reason unless a huge mistake has been made.
- d. Do not discuss other people's bans in-depth. Keep it vague, ex: "broke rule 1, use of a slur", and nothing more than that. Do not harass anyone who's been banned.
𝕍 ━━━━━ Miscellaneous
- a. Common courtesy. Don't spam, including spamming pings, etc.
- b. No art or design theft. If showing art in this server, you MUST credit the original artist, even if it's just a base you coloured over for example.
- c. Do not advertise other RPs, unless you're an official partner.
- d. English is the only accepted language in this server, as we don't have enough mods who can moderate other languages.
- e. If streaming or other OOC activities, be sure to state the proper age rating of the game/movie/etc. and put the proper warnings before it starts! (Epilepsy, trigger warnings, etc.)
- f. In any art-related channels, you should post something positive about the art above before posting your own! This is to be sure no one's art goes ignored.
By becoming a verified member, you agree that you have read, understand and accept these rules, along with the consequences for breaking them.

Roleplay Rules

⊱ ────────── {⋅. General Roleplay Rules.⋅} ────────── ⊰𝕀 ━━━━━ Realism and Literacy
We are a semi-realistic and semi-literate server!
In terms of literacy, this means:
- a. DON'T: picks up mouse hi goldenfur
- DO: The she-cat scooped up the mouse in her jaws, before realizing her friend Goldenfur was standing near. "Hi Goldenfur!" She'd greet, her voice muffled by her prey.
- b. Try to aim for a minimum of 3 lines on computer, 5 lines on mobile! Any less, and you may not be conveying enough detail about the scene or what your character is thinking. The above example is our minimum.
- c. We don't need perfect grammar and spelling at all times, but readability is a must! (Also, this is literally just a pet peeve, but it's Lionpaw, not LionPaw :sob: )
In terms of realism, this means:
- d. We're about as realistic as the books. Cats may have subtly unnatural colours, such as Bluestar's blue-ish grey fur, or Heathertail's lavender eyes, but you will not see a straight-up blue cat here. Designs must follow the logic of the Warriors universe. ((Note: sometimes, genetic unlikelihoods such as male calicos are present in the books. We will allow this too.))
- e. The Council of Stars and the Enlightened may have stars worked into their design to represent their rank, similar to designs often seen in the early days of Warriors. Just make sure it blends in with the cats natural colour scheme (and follows our 8-sided star design, feel free to DM me for examples).
𝕀𝕀 ━━━━━ Regular Roleplay
- a. No creating evil/villain characters, unless previously discussed and planned with staff. "Asshole" characters are allowed, but you MUST be mindful to never hurt someone's feelings OOC, and to not break any other rules.
- b. No creating characters that receive visions, prophecies, etc without being a seer, cats with powers, etc. unless previously discussed for plot reasons. All visions, prophecies, etc. must be checked by staff whether you're a seer or not.- c. Before RPing some big drama/event, please suggest the idea in #📚┇story-suggestions to make sure it works!- d. No powerplaying, god-modding, metagaming, etc.- e. Your character's history may NOT include mention of anything that would break the rules no 18+ content, r*pe or extreme abuse (esp animal abuse), etc If you're unsure, feel free to ask, but best to keep it out. Also note that if your character, say, suffered from extreme neglect, etc. that would not have taken place in the Starseekers colony. All the current councilors would immediately identify that behaviour and exile the abuser.- f. You can roleplay in multiple places with the same character, at the same time. Just pretend it's different days.- g. Failure to complete an activity check (which happens every few months or so- don't worry, you'll given many warnings throughout) may result in a kick, but you can re-join at any time. Posting in the absence channel with an explanation or getting the Hiatus/Paused role will skip your activity check, but only once in a row unless it's a special situation.- h. Just because something is buyable in the shop, DOESN'T mean it'll be 100% approved. Things in your idea may need to be changed, or rejected and we'll refund you. Please PM us before buying to check!𝕀𝕀𝕀 ━━━━━ Time + Other- a. Pupils must stay as pupils for at least 2 IRL months (2 gatherings, so 4 in-RP moons). Pupils are expected to become seekers by 3-4 IRL months.- b. Kits should become pupils at the same time as their siblings, unless there's an in-RP reason given (sickness, weakness, disability).- c. Kits must stay as kits for at least 1.5 IRL months if starting RP from birth. Technically this is only 3 in-RP moons, but we'll treat it like 5 moons if you're a solo kit eager to get started. Otherwise, it should be 2.5-3 IRL months.- d. If you're a pupil, we ask to train through RP at least one battle training session or hunting session + any other RP interaction or duty such as a patrol. You must also (Blossomstar's Faction Only... for now) complete your conscript assessment.===⊱ ──────── {⋅. Character Creation Rules .⋅} ──────── ⊰𝕀 ━━━━━ Character Creation
- a. Only cats will be allowed in the colony (unless a very specific scenario that had been approved by the admin).
- b. Physical disabilities a cat is BORN with (including disabilities that worsen over a cat's lifespan/chronic illnesses/not instantly visible) can be created for free, go ahead! Yes, this even includes blindness, deafness, etc. as long as the cat was simply born with it.- c. However, cats that GAIN a physical disability in life (ex. Briarlight's paralysis, Longtail's blindness) must be bought in the shop (it's a major event! Just to avoid everyone putting their poor OCs through the worst at a whim .3.")
(- Side note: Most of these cats, such as both Briarlight and Longtail, WOULD be allowed to stay a warrior if they wished. You'd be surprised how easily paralyzed cats can get around when they really want to IRL!)
- d. Mental illness is a subject that each RP handles a bit differently- so this rule may be subject to change. For now, I'll say if you yourself have a particular mental illness or experienced it in a significant, personal way, you may make a character that clearly reflect those mental illnesses. If you don't have that specific mental illness, I would avoid addressing it directly by name, instead reflecting it in a respectful manner through the character's traits and behaviour to avoid misrepresenting a specific mental illness (harmful stereotypes/representations towards mental illness or specific mental illnesses will still be shut down even if not addressed by name). Exceptions may be made with extensive knowledge of the mental illness in question.- e. Mutations can be bought in the store! Make sure to keep in mind if it's an aesthetic mutation, a chimera cat, non-harmful or lethal. These can each be bought with different items.- f. Semi-Banned breeds must be bought in the store, including things like LaPerms, Sphynx, Lykoi, Bengal and Savannah. A limited amount of the same breed can be present at a time.- g. Keep in mind that it is very unlikely that your cat is a purebred, unless a first-generation colony cat from a line of kittypets (or other similar reason).- h. LGBTQ+ cats can exist in this RP. Gay cats, trans cats, polyam cats, all welcome. 2 girls are allowed to have double-litters, where both get pregnant! (Though as mentioned below, the "2 kits per litter unless you buy more" still applies, so 1 kit per in a double-litter <3). 2 boys need a female cat to carry the pregnancy, but will only carry the DNA of the 2 males (it's magic, don't worry about it)!!- i. Names shouldn’t be incredibly long, or anything the cat’s parent (or whoever named them) wouldn’t know about!𝕀𝕀 ━━━━━ Character Slots and Ranks- a. You begin with 3 character slots. More may be bought in the shop with mice (regular currency) or star fragments (premium currency). Each extra slot will increase in price, with a current limit of 6.- b. Outsiders may only be submitted if you buy an Outsider Slot. You may buy multiple. Sometimes, certain outsiders won't be accepted (like if we're nowhere near twolegs, a kittypet will have to wait to join the RP), so be sure to check beforehand- c. You cannot join as a kit if there's no queen to care for it. You also must buy the Kit Without A Queen item to play as a motherless or adopted kit.- d. Each litter comes with 2 kits. More kits will be bought in the shop (say, if you want 1 extra kit for a total of 3, buy the item once. If you want 3 extra kits for a total of 6, buy the item 3 times).- e. The kit limit is 8, though if we don't have enough seekers to mentor them, we may lower this limit

Lore of the Enlightened

The Enlightened are a powerful colony of cats that existed well before the creation of the Starseekers. This colony is ancient, boasting a bloodline that can be traced all the way back to the first felines that roamed the Earth. This colony held the power of the stars in their paws. Each regular warrior just as powerful as our greatest seers. They could speak directly to the starpath, and believed the stars followed their every pawstep. Any cat who lacked this power, well... could they even be considered cats?Despite what an Enlightened cat will claim, however, powerless cats were amongst their ranks- yet swept under the den like a mistake to their image, and mistreated until they knew they weren't welcome at all. The Enlightened hid many things to the outside eye, in fact- so secretive that cats still argue on how The Enlightened's colony was even organized.Remember these powerless cats, for this is where our story begins...

Lore of the Starseekers

The Enlightened considered it a disgusting betrayal of their home. The rebellion considered it their cry for freedom. Whatever it was, it was war. War sparked by the Enlightened's treatment towards their powerless. They preached their own greatness, and maybe in power they still are.But the rebellion had hope.Hope in themselves, and hope in their leaders; Heart of Morning Moss, Ashen of Fallen Sky, and Blizzard of Fierce Night. With this hope, they fought for their lives. But they never stood a chance. The Enlightened cried, "With the power of the stars in our paws we command, all rebellious fiends be cursed and damned!"The rebellion was shattered. Cast out from their sacred home and left alive only to be cursed for bloodlines to come. The stars whispered to the seers- cats of the rebellion who had The Enlightened's powers but aided the powerless regardless.Horrible plagues and grief would befall them, said the stars. They've been cursed.Distraught, they fled across the land. But the spirits of the fallen rebel warriors would not be content with this fate. They did not die for history to write them as failures. Thus, a few years later, they called them to meet under a full moon night as the stars glared down above them. The seers instructed a new system. Three leaders to work together as a council... the Council of Stars. Minkfur became Minkstar. Wrenbelly became Wrenstar. Icewing became Icestar. Every warrior, from kit to councillor, was given the instruction. They must follow where the stars guide them. When the promise is complete, so will the curse be at rest... or else bring every cat down with it.

The Curse of Enlightenment

What is The Curse? You may remember how the rebellion- later the Starseekers- were cursed by the Enlightened. This curse follows us wherever we go, and causes tragedies to befall our pawsteps. These can come in many forms- some constant side effects of the curse, or others we call The Great Tragedies collectively. These side effects include a higher likelihood to birth mutated kits, cats with fur that seems ever-so-slightly unnatural, the natural area surrounding us producing strange growth patterns if we stay too long, and more. The Great Tragedies are major events that follow the colony, usually taking the form of natural disasters or a massive threat to safety or health. These are often preceded by visions or prophecy, to warn the cats to prepare... but not always. So why do the Starseekers travel at all, then? Why bother? It's because the Spirits of the Rebellion have vowed to free the Starseekers of this curse if they can travel to a mysterious location the stars are guiding them to. While we don't know much yet, we know this location gives the Spirits of the Rebellion a place to cling to the living world, to increase their power to rival the Spirits of the Enlightened. The Spirits of the Starseekers- our fallen warriors- accompany of the Spirits of the Rebellion, being lead by them.Cats aren't allowed to leave, as the curse attaches to a Starseeker wherever they go. To avoid spreading the curse even further, we deal with it as a group. Some cats join us, accepting the temporary curse in exchange for a safe community (The clans are very far away from here, and the rogue groups we meet are often dangerous- not to mention predators) and we welcome every one. We need all the help we can get.The timeline in "Colony Timeline" (in the Discord) shows all the major tragedies faced.

Lore of the Starpath

See the stars move along their path at night, flying in predictable yet beautiful patterns among the sky? This is the Starpath. The cats who make up the starpath surpass any colony, faction, or loner, or kittypet- they are free, free to roam, free to speak beyond borders, and free to run without ever growing tired or hungry or sick again. They watch over us with wisdom only gained after death, in exchange for some of the complexities of feeling alive. The starpath is made up of many cats. Some of the starpath is made up of the Spirits of the Enlightened, the same cats who cast us out and cursed us. The cats we contact are the Spirits of the Starseekers, our departed kin, and the Spirits of the Rebellion who lead them in the afterlife.Since the starpath is so... separated... after the war, we must travel to a new home to find a place where we can contact our own ancestors consistently. A place where the spirits can come down and hang onto. They have sent us to search for where the stars meet the earth, with promise that if we seek the stars, they will in turn give us further clues to escape our curse. However, some spirits don't roam the starpath at all. Whether they chose to abandon the stars or were banished, these spirits have been known to often be angry and unpredictable, some never healing from their wounds they held in life. Some have been known to walk the earth, having no place in the night sky, though often go unnoticed by living cats. Still, be wary of these spirits. Many of them aren't evil, but they should never be trusted regardless- there's a reason they no longer walk amongst the stars.

Colony Culture

We are the Starseekers- a colony of cats united to the same mission: to never rest until the will of the stars is fulfilled.Colony Culture includes several aspects, including in-depth explanations of high ranks + their names, names of non-high ranks, naming conventions [including the "Titled Names" mentioned in the Will of the Stars, and their history + current connotations], each Faction's specific culture + events, etc.For this reason, I'm going to simplify this into only discussing the basic explanations of the Factions as a whole, and explaining the high ranks. The FactionsThe colony is separated into three factions, and the factionless. By dividing our warriors in this way, if one faction was lost due to a tragedy, or somehow... corrupted, the other two will live on to restore it. Or, at least, carry on the memory and continue our mission. The Factions are often referred to by the current leader of that particular faction. For example, Minkstar's Faction became Emberstar's Faction. However, they have consistent names and a role to play as well! The First Faction is currently known as Lionstar's Faction. Of course, this is run by Lionstar, with his mate Titanstep as the vizier. Emberstar's adopted son, Redwater, was originally set to be the seer of Emberstar's Faction, but following a... situation, he is now the seer of Lionstar's Faction. They are the "Resources" faction- best at finding and catching prey, finding creative ways to make dens, and surviving against all odds. They will provide for us if one faction falls behind in this regard. The Second Faction is currently known as Emberstar's Faction, run by the aforementioned Emberstar, her newfound deputy Oatfang, and her best friend and loyal seer, Nightspirit. Nightspirit currently has no successor after Redwater left. Considering his age, he's hoping his adopted daughter Bunnykit is interested in the position. The Second Faction is the faction of "Law and Colony Duties"- they keep things orderly and maintain the peace. Despite their intimidating role, it's rarely a need for this faction to enforce the law. Really, this faction keeps us working together. Finally, the Third Faction, run by Blossomstar. Therefore, Blossomstar's Faction! Second in command is Newteye, joined by the seer Dewheart and her pupil, Moonpaw. The Third Faction is the faction of "War and Protection". Intimidating and powerful, and yet the councillor herself is a bit of a goofball. If danger approaches the colony, however, know that the Third Faction will be on the front lines to protect the others. What about the Factionless, you ask? They are the glue that holds the factions together! The factionless report to all three councillors, and help any faction that may fall behind the others. They often don't have a big camp- instead many tiny camps, or sleeping in whichever faction's camp is most convenient to their current task. The pupils are taught how to survive in small groups and how all three factions operate, so they can step into and manage any situation they need to. However, this comes with often not being immediately safe in a large faction camp if danger comes. Note that factionless cats are NOT outsiders. Outsiders are rogues, loners and kittypets. All the factions are simply part of the Starseeker colony. Therefore, it is not against the rules to have friends, family, and even mates from other factions. It's not uncommon for some pupils to leave their faction to train as a factionless instead, or vice versa- and as long as you don't mind occassional separation, mates from other factions are ok.=====High RanksOur ranks follow a simple system. Our highest ranking cats are councilors. There is one in each faction, serving as our leaders. (The Factionless do not have a leader, they report to the entire council). As a combined unit, the councilors work together as the Council of Stars. Each of them have been given nine lives to protect the colony.Next highest rank is the councilor's right-paw cat, the vizier. These cats help advise the council, fill in councilor duties if a councilor is absent, assign warriors to tasks, and will one day take over the councilor position... if they live long enough to see the end of the councilor's nine lives. For this reason, many councilors often go through a couple viziers at least.Next highest are the seers. Seers hold the power of the stars in their paws; they are the remnants of the long lineage in the Enlightened colony. Nowadays, however, seers cannot pass these powers onto their young. That power was taken from them when we left. To be a seer now, you must either be born with a gift from the ancestors, or train in discipline until you are accepted by the current seer of your faction and the stars themselves. Either way, it takes rigorous training that takes longer than average apprenticeships.Seers are essential to the process of a councilor's nine lives. When a councilor gives up one of these lives, a seer must be present to help delicately guide this spirit back to the body. It is a careful process, where part of the spirit rests, but another is awoken and forced back into the vessel. Having one seer in each faction is important for this reason- as well as to generally keep the healers spread out and available- though any seer can do this job, no matter which faction they typically serve.

Woah, how did you find this place???Congratulations! Screenshot this and send me a private message. I'll give you.... hmm.... does 10,000 mice OR 3 star fragments sound good?
